"Summer Stream" — Sculptural Wall Piece, MusicalMud Studios
A river runs through this piece — literally. "Summer Stream" is a sculptural wall form that traces the curve of a feminine silhouette, with a ribbon of glassy blue winding through its center like water finding its way downhill. Smooth river rocks are set along the stream's banks, grounding the piece in the textures of the Colorado high country.
Across the surface, the signature Aspen Series crack pattern spreads like sun-bleached earth, formed the way all of Lori's work begins — a porcelain-stoneware blend, stretched and shaped from the inside out. Into that landscape, Lori has pressed real leaves, ferns, and wildflowers, along with hand-carved details that echo the movement of the water beneath them. Sunflowers, blue asters, and aspen leaves scatter across the form, capturing the feeling of a high-country meadow in the height of summer.
This piece is a one-of-a-kind gallery work — not a production piece, and never to be repeated. It's meant to hang on a wall as a sculptural focal point, bringing the feeling of a mountain stream indoors.
A few things to know:
- This is a true original. "Summer Stream" is a single, one-of-a-kind sculptural work — once it's gone, it won't be recreated.
- Photos are a starting point, not a promise. Lighting and screens can shift how the glaze colors and texture read in person.
